Bathgate Farm is a family business developed by Andrew and Jocelyn Bathgate. It is located near Albany on the south coast of Western Australia. We grow potatoes, vegetable and salad crops for sale at the Albany Farmers Market and to selected local restaurants and retailers. Our interest is growing food that we like to eat using a practical but environmently healthy approach. Many of the varieties we grow are unconventional and have been selected for their flavour and cooking qualities. Our passion is to share our experience in producing and preparing fresh produce. We also grow seed potatoes which we supply to the nursery industry.

Bill and Julie Lax grow luscious tree ripened, sweet, crunchy apples to tempt taste buds through autumn and winter. Royal Gala, Jonagold, Splendor, Braeburn, Fuji and Pink Lady are just a few of the thirteen varieties grown. Citrus fruit is available in late winter and spring, and other fruits are available as seasonal conditions dictate. Denmark Apple farm is situated in the Scotsdale Valley, Denmark, and is a small family-run operation without large machinery and huge infrastructure. Their army of ducks and guinea fowl forage insects during daylight hours keeping bug numbers low. They manage the orchard using minimum sprays, as they too have to live and work in the environment with their fruit trees.

The farm site was selected for its unique characteristics which made it ideal for growing blueberries. Eden Gate Blueberry Farm produces top quality blueberries with a range of value-added products for different markets, and provides a comprehensive farm tourism experience for visitors. Eden Gate Blueberry Farm values the provision of top quality products, the satisfaction of their customers, ethical behaviour in all their dealings, the importance and welfare of their employees, the importance of their environment, and the need to farm sustainability. They strive to remain up to date in their knowledge of the industry and are actively involved in the Australian Blueberry Growers Association and the Rainbow Coast Commercial Horticulturalists. Damaris Waschk and her partner, Robert Underwood, have run their nursery, landcare consulting and tree planting business since 1989. Damaris looks after the nursery, while Rob’s work takes him all over the region. Damaris started growing herbs some years ago using compost-based potting mixes. The herbs are grown outside and no sprays have been used.

Vegetables farmers growing an extensive range of green leaf vegetables and Salad vegetables (some hydroponic)on their farm half way between Denmark and Albany on the South Coast Highway- watch for the sign. They are also Asparagus and Sweetcorn farmers together when in season, Mandarins Rhubarb, Lemons

David and Julie farm at Lowlands near Albany, and take great pride in the welfare of their goats, and the quality of the cheese and milk they produce. See David at the market each Saturday for fresh goat's milk, and Chevre and Feta cheeses.

Ron and Sue Watkins operated for many years their 552 hectare (1364 acre), third-generation family farm, Payneham Vale, in Frankland in Western Australia's wool belt. Their diverse on-farm enterprises included sheep, cattle, broadacre crops, olives, poultry and vegetables The farm was certified organic in the late 1990s. Ron runs a sustainable farming consultancy, which advises some 60 clients. He was instrumental in forming and running the Land Management Society of Western Australia and has received numerous international and national awards for his innovative work in the sustainable agriculture sector. Ron and Sue have now moved to a new property in Youngs Siding where they continue to farm beef and eggs, and have maintained their organic certification .

Steve and Ann are a husband and wife team who started their honey business in 1997. After the downturn in the wool and sheep industries, they decided to diversify into honey production, olives and free-range eggs. They have a property at Boxwood Hill (103km. east of Albany), and a small property 12km. west of Albany. At Boxwood Hill, they have a substantial amount of virgin bush, which enables them to produce honey of the highest possible quality. The ranges of floral sources are mallee, eucalyptus and yate in the east, and jarrah, marri, karri and taylorina, closer to Albany. All the honey they market is sourced entirely from their own production. Their honey is not blended and is handled as little as possible. What the bees put in the hives is what ends up in the jar! We believe this ensures the top quality and purity of our Honey.

Scott and Nicole farm East Friesan sheep on the North side of the Porongurup Ranges. The establishment of a dairy and cheese making facility is a new business venture for them, with production starting in earnest in Autumn 2014. They now have a small herd of Jersey cows and are bringing to market low heat pasteurized MILK, YOGHURT and CREAM and soon cheeses

Red Gum Hill Orchard was started in 1908 by the Sounness family. Now run by the Mathers, it is a 20ha property that grows apples, pears,nectarines, peaches, plums and cherries. They grow high quality tree- ripened fruit with minimal amount of sprays

Local award winning bakery. Freshly baked handcrafted bread every Saturday – sough dough, French baguette, rye, grain, wholemeal, Italian styles, Turkish bread. Also available a tempting range of pastries – pies and sausage rolls.

We are in the market every 2nd Saturday with our range of Jams and preserves all made from Great Southern produce

Gently pasteurised dairy milk from the Hart family property in Redmond in the Great Southern. Great tasting chocolate and coffee milk also available.
