PORK with PEARS

With Pears still available, here is a twist for jazzing up the good old pork chop!

(Assuming one good sized Pork Chop per person )

Heat some Virgin olive oil in a frying pan until sizzling then generously brown and crisp 4 chops on both sides.  Remove to a side plate.

Add to the pan,  1 large onion, sliced into thick half rings, together with 2 large pears that have been halved, peeled and cored together with a really good grind of black pepper and continue to sizzle them both together until starting to brown and caramelise.

Remove pears from pan and place in an ovenproof casserole dish with the browned pork chops.

Deglaze the frying pan with a mixture of

 1 tablespoon of Soy Sauce
 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
All mixed with about ¼ cup of water

Bring all this to the sizzle and then pour over the casserole - pop all into a 180°c oven and bake for a further 20/30 minutes (depending on thickness of chop) until sure the chops are cooked through.
